Understanding Karma..... is a unique self-published book of short tales, information about karma, and a journey of the soul. The book contains a story line that continues through to the end of the book. I've included writing exercises that you can do to help you look at your life, to see the patterns, the ups and downs of your past. It's entirely up to you if you wish to do these exercises and how long you want to spend on each. Some people may wish to read the whole book, to follow the story, then go back and do the exercises. Others may find the exercises become more meaningful if they do the exercises and then go back and add more to the comments once they get a better grasp of the karmic concept. There is no wrong or right way to do them. As each person's life is unique, so each exercise will be unique, too. If it takes two paragraphs or twenty pages, take your time and write as much as you feel is right for each exercise. Then put the paper away and pull it out at another future time. You will be amazed at how much more you will get at that time from the words on the pieces of paper.

WHAT EXACTY IS KARMA?
I don't know about you, but I find it hard to be good all the time. You know, all those little lies that you tell in your daily life. Yes, I feel great. No, I never have a bad hair day. Yes, that dress looks wonderful on you. What? This old outfit? Hah! I've had it for years. What did you say? Why didn't I ever take off the price tag? What price tag?????? Okay. You get the idea. There are always those moments of temptation, the anger that seems to come out of nowhere, the jealousy that you try to suppress, the actions that are less than angelic. In childhood, you see more of the innocence related to these types of things. When you're five years old, if someone pushed you, then you probably pushed them back. Yup. Logical when you're a child. But as you grow older, the circumstances change, yet the actions/emotions remain the same. You don't have much time. The mall is going to be crowded, you still haven't eaten, and the upcoming doctor appointment is causing knots in your stomach. Then you see it. A parking spot close to the mall entrance. You make a right turn and head toward the spot. Then you groan. Someone else, an elderly lady in a very old car, sees the spot too. You step on the gas and get there a few seconds before the other car. Or maybe the other person stepped on the gas and got the spot a few seconds before you did. Would you be angry? Curse? Slam your hand on the steering wheel? Each person has different reactions, will experience different emotions, unique motivations, and contemplate various events in different ways or lengths of time. That is why karma is so unique for each person. Um, excuse me. One of the angels on my shoulder nudged my neck. Maybe the situation with the parking spot is nothing more than just luck. Good luck. Or in some cases, bad luck. Hmmm.

GOOD LUCK AND BAD LUCK
Cars zoomed on both sides of the busy highway. Suddenly, the rear left tire blew on the grey car. The driver lost control and careened into two others cars. Behind the accident, cars swerved to avoid a head on collision. One fatality resulted. Three people were injured. A boy riding a bicycle was shaken as he stopped the bike on time but skidded to a halt. An old woman at the red light sighed with relief. Luck had been with her. If she hadn't stopped to pick up the paper, she might have been in the middle of that accident. What exactly makes one person lucky and another unlucky?
